Plot
A Montana ranching family faces off against others intruding on their land. Forrie J. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to “forget” his mountain accent and revert to speaking in his usual Southern California voice.

He hears the footsteps coming toward him, but he can only fulfill his role through habit and loyalty. While some of the actions are a bit confusing due to the lack of explanation, they feel natural, as if the viewer is getting a real glimpse of life in another world. I hope the resolution to this saga includes an emotional payoff that justifies its scope and attention to detail.
